Growing up in a family of exceptional cooks was always a big influence on me as a child. The influence bloomed in many ways, not only did I learn how to cook and navigate a kitchen, but also in the way of really respecting the ingredients and the simplicity of a damn good recipe. The kitchen was always a creative space where I saw my parents excel!

We look forward to creating meals for every event we serve. Who wouldn’t want bomb-ass food at their event! The type you want to eat now and save some for later! When you include Rooted in Culture, in any of your events, your guest will leave filled and satisfied.

We would like our clients to know that we are continuously striving to be economically conscious and balanced in our culinary choices.

With that in mind:

  • 80% of our produce and herbs are from local farms. If something is out of season we purchase organic produce.
  • Our chicken, lamb, goat and beef are 100% grass-fed or organic and our seafood is wild caught.

We are striving to change the approach to Jamaican cooking by implementing our dishes with integrity and great quality ingredients.

Rooted in Culture primarily offers drop off catering service. But we have options to provide everything needed to make your event, large or small, effortlessly successful. This includes optional staffing, coordination of rentals, passed hors d’ oeuvres, custom items and packaging, décor, and more. Our team will design a menu to suit your dietary restrictions, needs, and aesthetics. All catering orders should be placed 7 days in advance. 

Please note: 50% of your deposit is needed to process the order. The final balance is due 72 hrs before delivery. Delivery charges may vary. All cancellations must be made at least 72 hours before the event.
